Finding Your Ideal Client

Have you ever heard the phrase: “Attract your ideal client”?

If you’re in the entrepreneur world, then I sure hope you have. It’s one of the most important steps to finding success in your business. But, do you know how to find your ideal client or customer? Most people don’t know how to do this right away. And that’s totally okay!

Let’s start with some questions you need to asking yourself:

What sets you apart from everyone else in your industry?

What makes you YOU?

What are you doing to communicate to your audience that you are in high demand and worth their time and money?

If you’re able to easily answer these questions, that’s great! Good for you! For some of us, these questions are hard to answer right away. So if you feel stuck, don’t worry, you aren’t alone! I am still trying to figure some of these answers right alongside you.

I suggest you take sometime to sit down and answer these questions thoughtfully. It will help catapult you into a place of being able to market yourself and your product/service effectively.

The answers to these questions are extremely important because it helps you hone in on what you need to be doing to grow your business rather than trying to do everything. When you know who you’re speaking to, you’re not trying to speak to everyone. And that’s a good thing! You can be more direct, meet the needs of your ideal client, and start growing that business! When I first started my business, I spent a lot of time working on my vision and mission, ideal client profiles, and long-term business goals. This work on the front-end is helping me work and grow more intentionally and efficiently.

The next step:

I suggest creating fake “profiles” of your ideal clients. Get to know them! Once you know more about them, you should be able to communicate directly to them. Download the ideal client profile worksheet (below) to help you figure out their interests, place of shopping, how they spend their free time, etc. It will be a good foundation for marketing to your ideal client. The great part is that you get to make all the decisions about your ideal client. These are “fake profiles” so you get to create your ideal client. So fun, right?

I suggest creating at least three profiles of your ideal clients.

The next step?

Creating a marketing plan.
